Colorful Valparaiso
Valparaiso is the second largest city in Chile and the first stop after crossing the Andes border with Argentina. The name of the city comes from a combination of two Spanish words valle (valley) and paraiso (paradise).
The city is known for the largest commercial port on the west coast of South America and a very colorful old town. At weekends, local craftsmen and artists set up stalls in the labyrinths of small streets that are very steeply raised above the ocean line. There is a very artistic atmosphere in Valparaiso, the best manifestation of which are the interesting murals appearing every step. For those who want to spend time actively, we recommend renting kayaks and viewing the city from a water perspective.
