Andes mountains
Looking from the power of the Andes and their snow-capped peaks, we decided to go on the trail and enjoy their majesty up close. We were in the town of Uspallata, within the Aconcangua National Park, in which the highest peak of South America is located – the above-mentioned Aconcangua (6962 meters above sea level). Unfortunately, due to the difficulty of the routes, very few roads can be crossed without a hired guide and a special permit. To protect this nature reserve, where the number of climbers increases from year to year, you need to buy a special permit (from $ 100 up) and strictly follow the rules, such as the fact that all rubbish and waste must be transported in special bags down (it is it is meticulously checked and not complying with it, which results in a very high fine). The weather does not spoil you, in high mountains, the temperature at night can be felt even to -30 degrees. If we do not have the right equipment, we can go on one-day trips that will provide us with no less impressions! An interesting trail is, for example, the road to the old border crossing between Chile and Argentina, which lies at an altitude of 3800 meters, this trip is recommended for high-altitude climbers to get used to the altitude and acclimatization.
