Ha Long

Ha Long Bay was called the Bay of the Landing Dragon because of the hundreds of pointed karst islands that resemble the ridge of this reptile protruding from the water.

The whole bay with an area of 1.553 square km is a tourist showcase of Vietnam, and it’s best to get here with an organized trip from Hanoi. The trip lasts all day and is full of many attractions (additionally paid), we highly recommend the kayak trip.

After over 3.5 hours of driving we reach the marina, where we change to the ship, which will be our floating home for the whole day. The ticket price includes a cruise and a very hearty traditional dinner, which is a very nice addition to the beautiful views around. The bay is a really beautiful and magical place that will not bore us with its view during the entire trip.

Another attraction mentioned earlier is an additional kayak trip. After renting the kayaks, we can explore the surrounding caves and small lakes in the middle of the mountains for an hour. After giving away the kayaks, we can try our arm wrestling with one of the marina employees … I reassure everyone that this is not a big chalange.

The last attraction of the day is a walk to a cave discovered accidentally in the 1930s by local residents. Currently, it is perfectly adapted to sightseeing, and the rock formations are impressive among the colorful neon lights.

To sum up, a trip to Ha Long is one of the most pleasant trips we took in Vietnam.
