Siem Reap – probably the city most known by tourists, mainly because of the beautiful temple complex of Angkor Wat.
But what can you do here? First of all, traveling trough the markets for hours , especially those at night. Alleys of endless stalls with souvenirs and clothes, among them pubs and restaurants and next to them a stall with fresh fruit juice. The heat in the evening does not tire so much, so you can actually spend a lot of time here.
A very interesting alternative to shopping can be a visit to the theater, where the performance takes place. Dances (folk), beautiful costumes, and food at will, because this offer is just dinner + show.
Costumes, dance and set design allude to the Khmer tradition. Centuries ago, in ancient Angkor, there were groups of dancers who, praying for the grace of the nation, danced celestial dance.
The whole spectacle was divided into 6 parts, each with a different dance, different costumes and different music. Beautiful colorful dresses, ornaments in the hair, strange hand movements meant that you can feel like in the ancient Angkor Wat.
