Penguin's Land

Puerto Madryn is a coastal city known for its large penguin population. The trip to Penisula Valdes (where they appear) begins from the morning hours and lasts all day.

The first station is the town of Punta Norte and peeping elephants and sea lions.

When we were there, i.e. at the turn of January and February, the behavior of lions is special, because every lion defends its family. So around the lion (Macho) gathers mother (Hembra) and a children group (Cachorros). Macho does not allow another male to approach his family , because if he does, Hembra with the young will go to another herd . Animals are very aggressive on land, but in water they do not compete with each other.

Second station – penguin watching.

There is a colony of Magellanic penguins living on Penisula Valdes, which has about 1000 individuals, in the Punta Lomo, 80 km from Puerto Madryn to the south, apparently there are about 40,000.
