Long Hoa Island (called Monkey Island) is located near Saigon (you can get there by public transport, first by bus line 20 to cross the river by ferry and take bus number 61), and in addition to the monkeys listed above, we can see also the crocodiles.

You can choose from two short routes plus attractions in the form of a boat ride on the surrounding backwaters. Right at the entrance to the island is a small restaurant. Our attention was caught by signs prohibiting bringing food and drink to the island, due to the greediness of monkeys. Along the way, you can visit the tiny museum, but you can see from the stuffed animals that are exhibited there, the years of splendor are long gone behind.

There are dozens of monkeys on the island, which you can observe with pleasure and laughter. Generally, it was calm until there came a group of turist from China, which was robbed of everything by the monkeys. Bottles of water were ripped out of the hands, and more insolent monkeys stolen turist’s hats.

To escape the robbery, you can take refuge in the crocodile sector. The monkeys are afraid of these reptiles and they never visit this place. Above the backwaters one could walk on rotten footbridges that creaked underfoot. Seemingly motionless and sluggishly, the crocodiles closely watched whether anyone would fall into the water.
