In our ranking of the prettiest capitals of the world, Lisbon is at the forefront. The capital of Portugal has undoubtedly a magical atmosphere and a unique atmosphere. A walk through the narrow streets, away from the main busy thoroughfares is a real feast for the body and spirit.
At every step we find a charming corner that will please our eye and camera lens. If we feel tired of climbing the steep hills of the Portuguese capital, we can drink coffee and eat delicious fish in countless small restuarants that we will certainly meet on our way.
In the evenings the city is lit up with thousands of lights and nostalgic fado sounds are coming from everywhere.
There is no denying that Lisbon is a center of Portuguese culture with a centuries-old tradition that is still alive and respected. As an example, the Martinho da Arcada restaurant, which still has a table reserved for Fernando Pessoa, one of the greatest Portuguese poets … who died in 1935.
Of the monuments of Lisbon, the 52-meter Monument of Explorers in the Belem district was most remembered in our memory. On the banks of the Tagus River, you can imagine a headboard moving to conquer a new world, full of dangers but also exciting discoveries.
