Yellow River

The route leading through the leaping tiger gorge is reportedly in the top ten most exciting trekking routes in the world. In addition, here is the source of the Yangtze River – yellow river.

The name of the leaping tiger gorge refers to an Old Chinese legend that tells about the hunting of nearby inhabitants for the predator mentioned in the name. During the hunt, a tiger was trapped by hunters (exactly on the gorge’s edge) to escape his persecutors made a breakneck act and jumped to its other side. This does not seem so unlikely because in some places the gorge is really narrow.

The jumping tiger gorge is the highest canyon in the world, its walls reach one side up to 2,500 meters, and the other even over 3,000.

The trip through the gorge lasts 2 days, with accommodation in a very picturesque place on the steep slopes of the canyon (From the windows we can admire the beautiful views at sunset). An additional attraction is the descent to the river itself, whose hurricane current stuns our senses and we lose our hearing.
