The name of the leaping tiger gorge refers to an Old Chinese legend that tells about the hunting of nearby inhabitants for the predator mentioned in the name. During the hunt, a tiger was trapped by hunters (exactly on the gorge’s edge) to escape his persecutors made a breakneck act and jumped to its other side.
