Many attractions
We went to Arashiyama by bike, because it’s about 10 km from the center of Kyoto. Great bike route, along the river, but in full sun.
The first attraction is a small park with monkeys at the top of the hill. If zoos are to exist, let them look like this. Here, people enter a large cage, and the monkeys run in the wild, watching them curiously. Every once in a while they jump on the plaid for eat treats and go away again on the trees.
Arashiyama is located on the river, where for a fee you can go boating or sit in the shade on its shore without a fee.
When we rest, we can go to the second attraction of this place, i.e. the bamboo forest (about 2km road). The bamboo forest is not very big, however but very photogenic, and the walk in the shade passes very nice. An additional advantage is the lack of an entrance fee.
The Fushimi Inari Shrine is located on one of the hills surrounding Kyoto. The temple itself is about 4 kilometers long and prayers are erected in it for successful business transactions. In many places sculptures of fox appear with the key to the rice granary in their mouths. The temple is eagerly visited and during the Japanese New Year it can be visited by over 2.5 million people in 3 days.
