2 days up the stairs ...
Emei Peak (3099 meters) is one of the four Chinese sacred mountains of Buddhism. The temple complexes with the Buddha statue at the top were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996.
Throughout the Emei massif there are seventy-six Buddhist monasteries of the Ming and Qing dynasties, most of which near the top of the mountain. The most interesting rarity and pearl in the history of China is the temple on the top … built in the first century AD as the first Buddhist temple!
All temples are connected by stairs, after which we climb two days. This journey is quite demanding, but seeing the temples emerging from the fog rewards the hardships. The greatest view, however, is the Buddha statue shining in the sun on the summit and the sea of clouds that are below our feet. Really impressive!
