Giant and red panda
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is quite a large complex, (about 100 hectares). The center, in addition to breeding Pand (to set them free in future), deals with scientific and genetic research and serves as an education center on this endangered species. The purposefulness of this place is evidenced by the fact that, according to a recent study, only 1,600 animals live in the wild in China!
The giant panda is calm by nature and they spend all their free time between meals sleeping. Despite their weight (they weigh up to 120 kg), they climb trees well when they run away from danger or want to sleep on them. Pandas like to play and are very gentle (except for mothers with youngs). When they first meet people, they often use their front feet to cover their faces or lower their heads to hide their faces from the ground.
A walk around the center will take us about 2 hours, during which we laugh enough at viev of those funny animals.
