Trips in rhythm of calypso

The Caribbean coast of Costa Rica is primarily paradise beaches (and endless walks) as well as interesting folklore, because this place is inhabited mainly by a minority of African descent.

By the beaches we will find dozens of stalls and small bars, colorfully painted and very ingeniously furnished. In the evenings they are full of customers, and in some of the resturants you can listen to live calypso music. We were lucky enough to go to such a concert in the town of Cahuita, where the famous local band Kawe Calypso performed. Their song “What a saturday night” became the hymn of our trip and the most often singed melody.
