Buenos Aires has many magical places. One of them is definitely the Recoleta cemetery, which in rank corresponds to our Polish Powązki cemetery. The cemetery was opened in 1822 and since then the most famous and influential Argentinians from the world of business, politics, science and culture have been buried here. The tomb most often visited by tourists is the tomb of the Duarte family, where lies Maria Eva Peron, the famous Evita. The Recoleta Cemetery, apart from its artistic values, is a good place to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city, walk in the cool shade of tombs, and observe cats.
